Saturday 5th January saw the Annual Winter Walk for the Shrewsbury & North Wales Branch of the Inland Waterways Association (IWA). Led by Lyneal Trust volunteer Steve Bristow (extreme right of photo in his gilet jaune), the short walk started and ended at the Morris’s Bridge NNR car park and included a stretch of the Llangollen Canal which most volunteers probably know quite well. The group had lunch at the Whixall Marina Café (https://www.lyneal-trust.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Whixall-Cafe-Leaflet-August-2018.pdf) which is rapidly becoming a favourite lunch destination for day trips aboard the Shropshire Lady.
Details of the Walk can be found at https://www.waterways.org.uk/shrewsbury/pdf/whixall_walk_jan19 and is taken from the Whixall Walks booklet http://www.whixallparish.org.uk/Whixall%20Walks%20Book%20v8%20final.pdf where it is Walk No. 10.
